Hluschak Takes First Place at Cornell Body Bar Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. – Drexel wrestling placed seventh of 10 teams at the Cornell Body Bar Invitational as five Dragons placed in the top six positions including a first-place finish from Ryan Hluschak (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) at 157 pounds.
Hluschak, seeded third, won four straight matches to take the Cornell Body Bar Invitational title. The junior defeated Clint Stout of Maryland, 16-10, then topped sixth-seed Drake Hovis of Cornell, 19-12 to advance to the semifinals. Hluschak defeated second-seeded Chris Brown of Old Dominion, 4-3 to face fourth-seeded Jeff Marsh of Michigan. Hluschak defeated Marsh, 8-2, to clinch first place.
Sophomore Steve Mytych (Wyoming, Pa./Northampton) finished third after going 4-1 in the tournament. His only loss came to eventual champion Whitt Dunning of Army, 3-2, in the semifinals. Jon Oplinger (Bath, Pa./Northampton) took home a fifth-place finish at 197 pounds while Bill Martin (Avon Grove, Pa./Landenberg) and Nick Kozar (Derry, Pa./Derry Area) each finished sixth at 133 pounds and 174 pounds, respectively.
The Dragons will return to the mat on Friday, Dec. 1 with a non-conference match against nationally ranked Lehigh at 7:00 p.m.
